"Phase 2 in progress; the new public realm and heart of Leicester"
Phase 2 of the Leicester Markets Masterplan has seen the demolition of the 1970s Indoor Market Centre, providing the opportunity to create a unique public space within the heart of the city centre.
The works for this high quality public realm are currently underway, and the transformation areas’ character is beginning to take shape. The opportunity to give renewed presence to many of the distinct heritage assets within this prominent conservation area is a unique privilege.

Greig and Stephenson have also submitted planning permission for the restoration of the neglected façade of the Grade II* Listed Corn Exchange building, with the proposals seeking to create a new high-quality ‘screen’ which will act as a backdrop to the square, and a focal point for community events.
