Since joining the team in 2012 and later becoming joint director in 2018, Adam has led diverse architectural projects in terms of scale, complexity, and location. His, and the work of the practice, has a strong focus on markets, public realm, community and often the adaptive reuse of heritage assets. Notably, his impactful contributions include the redevelopment of Leicester Market Masterplan, Preston Market Quarter, Darley Street Market in Bradford, and Bilston Market.

A champion of sustainable design and innovative solutions, his ethos focuses on well-justified buildings deeply connected to their context.

His design philosophy prioritises well-justified buildings that respond to their context rather than adhering to predetermined styles. He values the social, economic, and environmental impact that successful markets bring to a place’s culture and commerce.

Beyond design, Adam’s extensive experience in market operations and long-term success metrics uniquely positions him to provide valuable insights for the design of public buildings.

In Adam’s spare time, he enjoys other creative ventures such as photorealism paintings, up-cycling and working with concrete and timber.
