The brief/ To produce a new mixed-development on a green site in the centre of Ninove.

The context/ Ninove is a city and municipality located in Flanders, situated on the Dender, in one of three regions of Belgium. 

What we did / Greig + Stephenson was invited by the Dutch developer Breevast to create a scheme combining 15,000 square metres of retail on one level with housing located above.  Forming a circuit with the existing town centre, the development is linked to a multi-storey car park at one end.  The scheme's format stores contrast with the more linear smaller fashion mall opposite.  With a value of £14m, the development completed to wide acclaim in 2002 and is now trading profitably.  To build on this success, the client intends to extend the centre in the near future.
