Greig and Stephenson recently completed a new roasting warehouse design for independent Monmouth Coffee. Situated under three Victorian railway arches in Bermondsey SE1 the 8,000 square foot warehouse complements Monmouth's existing coffee shops in Covent Garden and Borough Market and provides a dedicated roasting, storage, office and training venue.

Glass has been used extensively to maximise natural light. Restrictions prohibited Greig and Stephenson from fixing materials to the viaducts so a freestanding stainless steel frame was used to create an open plan mezzanine level office.

Howard Bates said “the viaducts are a great location and we worked with a lightness of touch to maximize the open space while making it useable and adapting it to meet Monmouth's specific needs.”
